5 Days to Go...

Indeed it is. Yes, 5 days to go until we set off on a big adventure. If you are reading this you are most likely a close friend or much loved family member (hi Mum and Dad!). As Glen and I prepare to head off on a journey of a lifetime (pardon the cliche - but it is most fitting), we would like to take the opportunity to say thanks to everyone for being just so damn great. We could certainly not ask for better family or friends, and we will miss our 'real' life here in Townsville over the next two years. So, you can rest assured we are not heading off to escape from anything, instead we are heading off to discover new things. We kind of want to get a few things out of this trip:
1. Experience the big wide world
2. Try work in a new place, maybe even in a new job
3. Say 'hello' or 'bonjour' to someone new
4. Visit a whole heap of crazy and not so crazy museums and places: I found a hair museum in Turkey; ewwww.....
5. Relish in the fact that we get to do all of the above together (sorta soppy, I know).
So, hang in there readers. I can't promise an entirely action packed adventure story (you wouldn't catch me skydiving, though indoors I would like to try...), but I can promise a story about two regular people, stepping out of the familiar groove of life and molding a brand new life in a totally unfamiliar place. There will be laughter, there will be tears and there will be a whole lot of 'God, I don't know my way/my phone number/the train to catch/how to stay warm/how to calculate in pounds or euros/how to teach/where I left my mind.....'
Good night all, talk soon,
Stacey xx
